When do you switch off your vamp weapon ?
Up until a few months back whenever I was using a vamp weapon I would switch away from it when not in battle. But then for a reason I don't quite remember, I realised that the hero and/or hench monks can quite easily heal against the vamp damage when not in battle. So when playing with an NPC monk in PvE, I've stopped weapon switching unless there is an enemy that will take more damage from my elemental weapon.
If there is one human and one NPC monk I don't switch because the NPC will heal me. If I've only got human monks I ask them if they want me to switch or not.
When I'm monking I generally get the vamp users I encounter to switch by simply refusing to heal them when we aren't in battle.
So for those of you who use vamp weapons, when do you weapon switch away from the vamp ?

Never if I'm using it, but I use zealous 90% of the time. Im justt too lazy to alternate pressing F1 and F2, i suppose.

I don't use vamp weapons anymore. I found it too much hasstle switching weapons all the time, not to mention if I went soloing i'd sometimes forget to switch and go AFK, only to come back dead.
But when I did, I switched weapons (when I remembered to).

Instead of switching weapons, just use Mending.

In hoh I have about 12 shields to double click onto my weapon slots and 3 or 4 sets ready made on the weapon slots
So....changing isnt much of a problem...im used to changing every match

In a human party I'll switch between mobs. With H/H I will switch when I remember, but I don't try very hard to remember.

When necessary. The life drain isn't enough to worry me.

I feel like it depends a lot on the class. Warriors I switch weapons all the time. Sins though where 90% of their damage is +xx armor ignoring damage, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

When using my assassin in PvP, I swap on the vampiric when I'm low on health in combat, otherwise I use zealous for energy, and when out of combat I don't hold anything.

I got annoyed at switching out of combat in PvE so I went for sundering. I'll switch automatically after combat, still - hitting F1 has become a reflex.

Shouldn't you be swapping out of vampiric when low on health, not to vampiric?

I used to use a vamp bow and still do sometimes. But usually I don't also because of the hassle of switching. Besides switching doesn't always work because I'm shooting arrows or doing something. Sometimes it's a while before I realize I still have the same bow armed because I'm into the battle.

Not if vampiric can be used as a source of (abiet very mild) healing.

I will switch onto the vamp when I'm in battle, and will often forget to switch off. When the hero monk starts to heal me when not fighting, that's usually when I will switch off the weapon.

You know, mending is underpowered, but it isn't that bad. Just for the hell of it, I created another warrior a long time ago, got him from Ascalon to LA, and deleted him after he reached level 20 and R1 survivor. He used mending as one of his skills, but...I think the +3 regen gives a certain safety net for players. It'll take care of minor damage from most physical attacks (not counting special attacks, just regular swings) and some minor spells.
However, mending is a poor, poor substitute to counter the negative effect of frenzy. For that, I recommend a cancel stance instead.
Anyway, I rarely use vampiric weapons because I don't think the +3 life steal is all that great.
